technics play mode speed problem

I have a technics rs 1700. It works well and good. The only problem is that after a few minutes of operation the rotation speed increases then i need to switch it on and off many times till it starts playing normally. please advice wat could be the problem. I juz like this deck so much. I would be greatful if u could give me a solution for this problem. Also could i Get a service manual for the same. Thanks n Regards Matthew.uae67@yahoo.com...
